Councilor Mark Capell

Mark Capell is a fourth generation Central Oregon resident. His great-grandfather came to Bend in 1915.  Mark was elected to the Bend City Council in November 2006. He was appointed Mayor Pro Tem by City Council on January 7, 2009.

Mark’s Dad was in the Air Force.  The family lived in Spain, Germany, The Philippines and Japan.  They moved home to Bend in 1972 in time for Mark to attend Cascade Junior High (where the School Administrative offices are now) and Bend Senior High.

Mark Capell is the owner of CMIT Solutions with his wife Jeanni. They offer computer services to business and home computer users.  They started the business in 2002 and have four employees. Prior to moving home to Bend in 2002, Mark was in marketing with Sprint in Dallas, Texas for four years. He was in planning and sales management at American Airlines for ten years living in Tulsa, Nashville, Fort Worth, Chicago and Austin. Prior to that, he worked in his family’s travel agencies in central and southern Oregon.

Mark graduated from  Bend High and attended Southern Oregon State College where he earned a B.S. degree in Business Management with a minor in Computer Science.

Mark and Jeanni will have been married for 30 years this year.  They enjoy sailing, backpacking, hiking and skiing.
